P-6.5 (PIPA) and associated regulations and in so doing, as well as the Law Society of Alberta code of conduct and rules,.  In so doing, we may collect:

  • Identification Information: Social Insurance number, driver’s license number, or other government-issued identification (when required for legal services).

  • Financial Information: Billing details, payment information, or financial records relevant to your case.

  • Case-Related Information: Details about your legal matter, including documents, communications, and other information you provide.

  • Website Usage Data: Information collected through our website, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited (see Section 3 for details).

b. Non-Personal Information

If you are located outside Canada and your emails or information are transferred on internet links that traverse the US border or territories, please note that your information may be processed in the U.S. by USA government entities, including but not limited to the Department of Homeland Security. We take steps to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws for international transfers, such as PIPEDA, if applicable.

If your personal information is transferred outside Canada to jurisdictions other than the USA, it will also be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We ensure that any such transfers comply with PIPEDA or applicable provincial laws, using safeguards like contractual agreements to protect your information.
