Senior Conveyancer

​We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Conveyancer to join our team in Olds and Calgary Alberta. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is confident managing real estate files from start to finish.

​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage residential purchase, sale, refinance, and mortgage files independently

  • Prepare and review conveyancing documents, including transfer of land, mortgages, and discharges

  • Conduct title and off-title searches through Spin2 and related systems

  • Coordinate with clients, lenders, realtors, and financial institutions

  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Land Titles requirements and applicable legislation

  • Handle trust conditions and closing funds accurately and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of Alberta real estate conveyancing experience

  • Strong knowledge of Alberta Land Titles procedures and LTO systems

  • Proficiency with conveyancing software (e.g., Lawyer Done Deal, or similar)

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple files and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong communication and client service skills

  • Ability to work with others and mentor junior assistants

Litigation Associate

CODY & COMPANY LAW OFFICE is a small law firm located in Calgary  and Olds Alberta. Our firm is multi discipline. We serve our communities' needs which require us to provide a range of legal services in a range of practice areas. Olds is a vibrant community of roughly 10,000 with more amenities than a town this size usually provides. Our location, midpoint between Calgary and Red Deer, offers quick easy access to all the amenities in these neighboring larger centers. We are looking for an associate to take on the litigation side of our practice. Our firm litigates, inter alia,  family, estates, construction, civil, corporate, commercial and ag/rural disputes. Family law makes up the lion’s share of the litigation practice at the moment but the general civil litigation practice continues to grow.

Our ideal candidate will be:

  • Ambitious

  • Up to 5 years’ post call

  • Experienced in litigation with exposure to both Family Law and general civil litigation;

  • Detail oriented;

  • A problem solver;

  • Adept at managing clients;

  • Self-motivated;

  • Organized and able to juggle competing tasks and deadlines;

  • Able to communicate well, both in person and in writing;

  • Community oriented;

  • Committed to growing their practice.
